For college sports programs around the country, Christmas showed up on Wednesday for the second time in just over a month.
That’s because Wednesday was National Letter of Intent signing day and teams from across the nation benefitted by signing some of the cornucopia of talented senior athletes from the Beaverton area.
Those athletes whose schools, colleges or parents submitted their signing information to the Valley Times are listed below.
Keanon Lowe, the Metro League’s Offensive and Defensive Football Player of the Year, will take his football talents next year to the University of Oregon.
Jacob Wark, a tight end and defensive end for the Crusader football team, will continue his education and career at the University of California at Berkeley.
Sarah Bridges, the Metro League and Oregon 6A girls soccer Player of the Year, will continue her efforts on the pitch next year at the University of Portland.
Kristin DeGrandmont, a defender who helped lead Jesuit to the 2009 6A girls state soccer title, will play next year at Pepperdine.
Julia Sattler, another key cog in Jesuit’s run to the 2009 6A girls state soccer title, will play next year at Oregon State University.
Rebe Wolverton, a midfielder and team leader in Jesuit’s march to the 2009 6A girls state soccer title, will play next year at Boise State University.
Tyler Baarts, a defender on the Metro champion Jesuit boys soccer team will play collegiately next year at University of Portland.
Andy Swope, a two-year starter at goalkeeper for the Jesuit boys soccer team, will continue his career next year at University of San Francisco.
Sarah Cruzan, already a Metro League and Oregon 6A champion in swimming, will attend Ohio State University.
Ana Montoya, an all-star player on the Skyhawk girls soccer team, has signed to continue her career at the University of Arizona, where she’ll also study International Business.
Allie Brock, a senior post on the Southridge girls basketball team, will play next season at Portland State University.
