Beaverton students perform at annual Oregon ZooLights event
The Barnes Elementary School Choir will perform at the Oregon Zoo’s winter festival ZooLights today (Thursday) at 5:45 p.m. Other groups from the Beaverton area performing at ZooLights include The Elite Dance Studio on Saturday, Dec. 12, at 7:15 p.m. and the International School of Beaverton concert choir at 8 p.m.; performances on Tuesday, Dec. 15, include the Aloha Symphonic Band at 7 p.m., Oak Hills Choir at 7:15 p.m., and Aloha Concert Band at 7:45 p.m.; and the Harmony Rose Chorus performs at 5:45 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 20.
Regular ZooLight hours are Sunday through Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. and Fridays and Saturdays from 5 to 8:30 p.m. Tickets, which include a train ride, are $7.75 to $10.75. Children age 2 and under are free.
To make money for their annual Jam the Dam! event, Beaverton High School students will seek sponsorships and donations for upcoming silent auction, concession sales and other promotional activities. All the items will be sold or auctioned off during Jam the Dam! on Feb. 19. The annual basketball game/fundraising event collects money for the Make-A-Wish Foundation. The community’s goal is to raise $20,000 to grant wishes for local kids.
