Early morning raids late last week led to the arrest of two men and the seizure of several thousand dollars in cash and drugs.
Just after 5 a.m. Oct. 22, narcotics detectives with the Westside Interagency Narcotics Team and Regional Organized Crime and Narcotics Team along with members of the Washington County Tactical Negotiations Team served two search warrants on a drug trafficking organization at different locations in the metropolitan area.
One warrant was served in Beaverton at 5005 S.W. Murray Blvd., where investigators found cash and drugs.
A second warrant was served in Portland at 2872 N.W. Kennedy Court. This is where 32-year-old Oscar Garcia-Serna and 34-year-old Alfredo Bautista-Romero were found and a large amount of cash was seized.
Both locations have been under investigation for more than a year, according to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.
During the warrant execution, Bautista-Romero reportedly assaulted a Washington County K-9 officer by kicking him in the mouth.
The dog bit one of Bautista-Romero’s feet. The suspect was hospitalized for injuries he sustained in the altercation with the K-9 officer.
Later in the evening, investigators served a third search warrant at a Cedar Hills’ home at 4070 S.W. 107th Ave., where they discovered more cash and drugs.
There was $25,000 in cash, about $10,000 in methamphetamine and $8,000 in cocaine seized between the three locations.
Garcia-Serna was booked into the Washington County Jail on multiple counts for the distribution, manufacture and possession of methamphetamine and cocaine. He is being held on $1 million bail.
Detectives issued a citation to Bautista-Romero in lieu of taking him into custody because he was hospitalized. He could face additional charges in the matter.
