The Beaverton Education Foundation has tapped a seasoned veteran fund-raiser to become the organization’s second paid executive director.
Kristine Baggett, 42, director of development for the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Oregon and Southwest Washington for the past three years, was named recently to succeed Janet Hogue.
Hogue left the foundation June 30 after seven years at its helm.
Baggett officially assumes her duties Sept. 5.
“It’s a wonderful opportunity,” Baggett said. “I’m looking forward to moving us to another level.”
Virginia Breen, chairwoman of the foundation’s search and hiring committee and a board member, said the foundation picked Baggett from a pool of nearly 18 applicants.
“I don’t think we could have done better,” said Breen. “She’s absolutely excellent.”
Breen said Baggett would be on board as the foundation implements a strategic plan that anticipates growth for the organization during the next five years.
Baggett has an undergraduate degree in geology (“I love science. I always have”) and holds a masters of business administration degree, both from Case Western Reserve University.
