NW Bicycle Safety Council, a nonprofit organization dedicated to ensuring safety for bicycle riders and others who share the road, is hosting its first 50K (32 mile) and 100K (64 mile) bike ride through Beaverton, Banks and beyond.
The bike ride will take place Saturday, Aug. 28 at Papa’s Pizza Parlor, 15700 N.W. Blueridge Drive, off 158th Avenue in Beaverton.
The course consists of a 64-mile loop from the start point at Papa’s Pizza Parlor to Stub Stewart State Park and back. Riders will explore farmlands, while winding through country roads and the Banks-Vernonia State Trail.
Two rest stops will provide riders with fresh fruit, snacks and water. A lunch will be provided at the end of the ride.
The event strives to raise awareness of bicycle safety, bring the community together and raise funds for bicycle safety council.

The cost is $30 online and $40 on the day of the event.
